Each year, the Public Prize is awarded to the visitor’s favorite among the exhibited photographers.
After several hours of counting and over 2000 votes cast, we’re delighted to announce that the winner of this 14th edition is Jérémy Appert, for his Ilinx series!
As winner of the Prix du Public 2024, the artist will receive a €500 prize to be redeemed on the website of WhiteWall photo lab, a partner of the festival for the past three editions, which is supporting us in the production of our focus. A portfolio will also be published in the annual magazine The Steidz, a multi-disciplinary source for contemporary art and media partner of this 14th edition.

Through his Ilinx series, Jérémy Appert seeks to capture, in a dreamlike way, a place of confrontation where only waves and gravity rule, a place where we experiment with our own limits and those of the world. In summer, on the shores of the Mediterranean, Jérémy Appert captures bands of young men leaping into the void and daring each other to jump higher and higher from Marseille’s Calanques. Suspended between torment and ecstasy, agitation and contemplation, the divers measure themselves against the unpredictable and brutal power of nature, dealing with fear and vertigo to chart their course towards intimate self-mastery and the anxiety of an uncertain future.
