Francesca Spiller parlera de la relation entre la photographie et les magazines indépendants, de la manière dont l’image photographique est à la base de ces publications contemporaines et du rôle croissant qu’elle couvre dans le débat sur la culture visuelle.

Francesca Spiller will talk about the relationship between photography and independent magazines, how the photographic image is at the basis of these contemporary publications and the increasing role that covers in the discussion on visual culture.

about Born in Padua, Francesca Spiller lives in Milan where she graduated in Economics for Art, Culture and Communication at the Bocconi University in Milan. After a working experience in Paris at the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, she focused her professional path on photography. From 2008 to 2015 she was responsible for the Galleria Carla Sozzani in Milan, organizing photographic exhibitions by artists such as Berenice Abbott, Saul Leiter, Peter Lindbergh, Lise Sarfati, Tim Walker. In 2015 she has been appointed coordinator and responsible for exhibitions at CAMERA, the Italian Center for Photography based in Turin, with active international exhibitions of artists such as Ai Weiwei, Francesco Jodice, Erik Kessels, Boris Mikhailov. She is the founder of Reading Room, established in 2018, the first space in Milan entirely devoted to magazines and independent periodical publishing.
