VIVANTS !

Crossed views on young French and Armenian photography

The French Embassy in Armenia invites you to a photographic exploration shared between France and Armenia in the framework of the 2021 Francophonie Season. In charge of the dissemination and promotion of the French language and culture in Armenia, the French Embassy is keen to offer a space of expression to young artists, in a context weakened by the crisis.

For the past 11 years, through the CIRCULATION(S) festival, geographical Europe has become the favourite terrain of the French collective Fetart. Each year, it paints a new portrait of the continent through the major trends in emerging photography. Its artistic committee, made up of 12 curators, defends an atypical photography, free and open to dialogue beyond artistic, territorial and political borders.

We are therefore very proud to present the exhibition “VIVANTS !” in partnership with the French Embassy in Armenia and the Henrik Igityan National Center for Aesthetics. This project built around exchange and cooperation is in perfect continuity with the curatorial approach of the collective, which defends a European territory with multiple identities, sometimes marked by personal and collective histories, sometimes by the carefree creativity of youth.

Through the series of 5 young French and Armenian photographers, this exhibition bears witness to a common quest. In a global climate tormented by health and political crises, in the West as in the East, the vital impulse is there, omnipresent. A single watchword: Imagine the aftermath, against all odds. To live more, better, differently, to stay alive despite the storm !
