In this third hemisphere, only the imagination can save the women of the people. Somewhere between the earth and our brains, there is also a space that belongs to all of us and we have the duty to maintain its survival.

At once near and far, real and fictional, this place opens a door to a narrative.

From its light shape, it comes to life through the image. 

Images inflated by the heat,

Saturated with color, 

Animated by the bodies.

All dictated by those few words of Jaques Demy:

“One shouldn’t take lightness lightly”.

It is now up to us to keep the third door ajar.

 

Exhibited in 2018 at CIRCULATION(S), Billie Thomassin is a young French photographer who never ceases to surprise by the beauty of her images, her retro side and her energy. Art director and movie director for various advertising agencies, she works in collaboration with major clothing brands and music labels.
