In this series, Thomas Vanden Driessche questions the representation of a certain type of social happiness and the related model of urban development that seems to have reached its limit.

About the artist

Born in Louvain (Belgium) in 1979, Thomas lives and works in Brussels. He has a journalism and humanitarian management degree and has worked for the UN program for development in Morocco, as well as for the Belgian Red Cross. As freelance photographer with the Out of Focus collective, his projects taken an in-depth look at contemporary India and its rampant industrialisation. Thomas is also working on a larger project dedicated to portraying the trivialisation of violence in Europe. His work was awarded by the Paroles Photographiques prize in 2010 and the 2011 PX3 prize in Paris, and has been exhibited in both Paris and Brussels.
