Photographing your Pain: a Form of Resistance
Guest speakers: Eric Karsenty, editor-in-chief of Fisheye Magazine, and photographers Charlotte Abramow, Morvarid K, and Sina Niemeyer.
Resisting in the face of one’s own pain: this is the challenge for artists on their way to personal reconstruction. One needs to arrange and collect the memory of evils to build a photographic series that allows analysis without becoming introspection. Does photography console both past and present pains? Does developing the narrative result from a process of distancing oneself from events or does it foster the emergence of intimacy?
