MAISTRELLO Rachele

Green Diamond

Italy

2022

Green Diamond plays with the boundaries between reality and fiction, historical archives and science fiction. Green Diamond was a 1990s Chinese hi-tech company that developed microchips capable of triggering sensations in the human body related to the experience of nature. Rachele Maistrello has reconstructed the personal archive of two workers of the factory, Li Jian Ping and Gao Yue, with analogue photographs, invoices, videos and found documents. Green Diamond is a critical work through a scientific, narrative and destabilising use of photographic language.
