About the artist
Born in Minsk (Belorussia), Alexandra Catière lives and works in Paris. She graduated from the International Center of Photography (New York, USA) and winner of the Hyères Photography Festival in 2007, then laureate of the first edition of the BMW Residence at the Musée Nicéphore Niepce of Chalon-sur-Saone. His journey without borders testifies to his desire to strive towards the universal. From the former Soviet Union to France and the United States, this young photographer makes timelessness one of the major aspects of her creation. Resurrecting the humanist tradition, her images are those of the sensations, the atmospheres she manages to capture. Without ever stopping only in the genres of portraiture or reporting, Alexandra makes the camera the instrument of her empathy for human nature and life in particular.
