Shot in New York City in a smoky shop where customers linger while listening to Dominican music and savouring these “hand made cigars”, this series of black and white photo evokes a legacy, a disembodied presence. The cigar paper take on several apparences, from its original shape, to its disappearance through milky volutes.

About the artist
After studying history and teaching, Anna Fouqueré definitely chose photography and improved her practice while studying in ENS Louis-Lumière. She is interested in photo essay and documentary, but her interest in images also led her to video.
