Sound of silence

Royaume Uni

2018

Sound of Silence is a series composed of an archive of images made by the artist. For many years, she has taken pictures of her brothers. The family home, located in New Jersey, USA, represents the starting point for this work, and was the setting for many photographic sessions. The images that emerge from this ritual reveal that the experience of childhood is not necessarily naive. The work also questions the relationship between an artist and their muse, the connection between a photographer and a model – which in this case works parallel to the relationship between brother and sister.

About the artist

Rachael Woodson was born in 1984, in Bern, Switzerland. She is an artist of American and British origins. She lives and works in Paris since 2009.
