SZABELSKI Tytus

AMZN

Poland

2022

In December 2018, Tytus Szabelski got a job at one of ten Amazon fulfilment centres in Poland to observe the company from the inside. The resulting multifaceted multimedia AMZN project sheds light on the functioning of this e-commerce giant: from its material footprint through working conditions to Jeff Bezos’s visions of the future. Amazon is just an example of what our reality may soon look like. Or indeed what it already does look like: behind a smooth online store interface and almost windowless warehouse walls, there hide exploitation and inequality of wealth, knowledge and influence.
