There is an Ukrainian tradition according to which each young man makes an album with photographs, texts, and drawings that all depict everyday elements from military service. Here, Sergey Kamennoy imagined how his son’s photo album would look like. Taras becomes his inspiration. He imagines him in a series that brings face to face a military imagery and elements of the pop culture or classical paintings

About the artist
Sergey Kamennoy was born in 1959 in Kharkov, Ukraine. He now lives and works in Normandy, France. He graduated from the State Academy of Design and Fine Arts in Kharkov, then showed his work mainly in Russia, Ukraine and France. His work was recently presented at the Centre Culturel Ukrainien located in Paris, and at the PHOTOKYIV Fair in Kiev. Since 2003, he and his wife Olga are working together. Their collaboration was awarded the Kandinsky prize in Moscow.
