Metamorphosis

Italy

2025

Metamorphosis invites viewers to reconsider the natural world as a living entity, following ecological philosopher David Abram’s view that an ecological crisis is fundamentally a perception crisis. It is about how we interact physically with nature and how we perceive it. Chromatic interventions in the photographs symbolise the persistence of life, even in adverse environmental conditions. Bright colours also highlight the consumption of natural resources, pointing to a fragmented and limited reality. Metamorphosis presents a contemplative human presence, with a deeper connection to nature and reminding us that we are collectively responsible for protecting the environment in the midst of the ongoing challenges presented by the anthropocene.
