Inspired by the Icons of the Orthodox Church, Sandra Birke has substituted them for dogs, surrounded by items from their everyday lives, because a dog means everything to its owner.

About the artist
Sandra Birke was born in 1977. She worked in small design studios and fashion until deciding to start her studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf. Sandra always values accurate preparation and thought-out implementation, and her series of twelve photographs “In dog we trust” deals with the relationship between humans and dogs today. Inspired by the Icons of the Orthodox Church, Sandra Birke has substituted them for dogs, surrounded by items from their everyday lives, because a dog means everything to its owner.
