Visible Studio
— Studios Photo
Historically, the portrait is built around the erasure of its own device. Neutral background, controlled lighting, and tight framing participate in producing an image perceived as neutral, objective where the studio disappears in favor of the subject. For Circulation(s), these codes are deconstructed! Arthur Gau voluntarily reveals the studio elements: background edges, light sources, frame limits. The portrait then becomes an image assumed as construction, revealing the rules, constraints, and choices that shape it.
