Everything I Want to Tell You
2026
Everything I Want to Tell You began with conversations around the relationship of our bodies to the nebulous cages of class, illness, immigration, gender and sexuality. As we talked about the ripple effects of our efforts to escape these concrete definitions, we turned to photographs, screenshots, selfies, and glitched videos as a means to both record and fantasize. Most of the images explore bodies as surfaces on which our experiences are traced.
Using these images, we build installations of swirling explosions and clumps of images and videos. We want those who enter our installations to feel like entering our minds in the moments before we fall asleep, as binaries fade and embarrassing middle-school moments, conversations that day, fantasies and dreams all seem equally real and present. Our installation for Circulations will center around precarity, and paired notions of inside/fall/encase against outside/float/peel.
About the artist
Sadie Cook (1997) and Jo Pawlowska (1990), two artists based in Reykjavik, Iceland, form a duo whose practice combines photography, new media, and installation. Their collaboration emerged from conversations about fantasy/creation/imagination and exchanges on archives exploring gender, image, self, and non-linearity. Their work has been exhibited in Iceland, notably at the Reykjavik Art Museum in a solo show, as well as in Finland and the United States.
