This series that takes from the documentary style works such as topographical surveys of various nuclear sites in France and gives us illustrated detailed maps.
Through the quest of these “other clouds” appears another update of the landscapes of classical painting taking into account this contemporary new situation.
“The metonymy through the steam of the cooling circuit of the power plant seemed relevant to me to show both my own anxiety and the (almost military) secret that surrounds everything that’s nuclear today: sites protected by barbed wire and pictures not allowed, malfunctions which are ignored or minimized.”

About the artist
Born in 1982 in Fresnes, Julie Rochereau graduated from the école des Gobelins in 2009. She developps her photographical work in portraits particularly inspired from Flemish painting, fashion and still life. The light, in fact the absence of light, the amplification of textures often represent the inner workings of her approach
