The project “Linzer Torten Diagramm” studies social and demographic data focusing on the status of women. For this series, the duo “prazlab” prepared nine cakes. Each recipe is made using statistical data from the years 2003 to 2011. Thus, the main ingredients of each recipe are calculated from the data of the city of Linz : the number of women living in the city , the rate of unemployment among women, the difference between their mortality and birth rates…

About the artist
Prazlab is a duo composed of Veronika KRENN (born 1987 in Austria) and Vesela MIHAYLOVA (born 1979 in Bulgaria). The duo works using food as a universal communication tool. Their works have been presented multiple times: Bucharest Museum of Contemporary Art, Sonar Festival, Goethe Institute in Sofia,… In 2014 they won the Gabriele Heidecker Award.
