The “ Legacy ” series is a group of symbolic portraits inspired from the family of Marie HUDELOT, divided between the east and the west, between France and Algeria. This series contains masked characters where nature and various ritual objects take ascendency over the individual in a reinterpretation of transmission. Playing on accumulation, abundance even exaggeration and the proximity of these objects, the subjects turn into still lives, similar to totems showing the complexity of the family legacy.

About the artist
Marie HUDELOT was born in Toulon in 1981. After studying cinema she enrolls at the Université Paris 8 (photography and multimedia). She is interested in performance, portraits and femininity. He work was recently presented at Vichy and Lille in collective exhibitions.
