An idiomatic phrase is a phrase that is specific to a language and which doesn’t always has an equivalent in other languages. This notion takes us to the phrases which are perceived as frozen by the uses of a language and which meaning is about memorization. Mr Sylvain is a small character with a bowler hat, seventies suit and big shoes who dives into the French phrases and illustrates them literally. 50 phrases are illustrated and Mr Sylvain now deals with phrases in six other languages.
