Les Absents

Artiste invité(e) - projets spéciaux

In 1948, the creation of the Hebrew state triggers off the first Israeli-Arab war and the exodus of more than 700 000 Palestinians. What is left today of the towns and villages that were deserted by their inhabitants? Brunot Fert went there to find the ghost places erased from the maps for more than 60 years. This series of pictures is a time travel, a return to the roots of this conflict. Like a detective, he looks for clues… As if going back to the origin enabled to understand better.

The series “The Absents” go the aid fund for contemporary photographic creation of the CNAP as well as the SCAM/ Roger Pic prize in 2013.
