Recent electoral campaigns in Ireland have attracted Mark Duffy’s interest: in “Vote No. 1“, he examines the culture of election advertising in Ireland. The series focuses on the disfigurements the electoral candidates’ faces suffer, an unintended consequence of their posters’ erection.
“These images reflect the Irish electorate’s increasing disillusionment with the political process after years of harshening austerity politics”.

About the artist
Mark DUFFY was born in 1981. An Irish photographer currently based in London he manages personal projects and commissions while also being a curator. He studied photography at IADT in Dublin, Ireland. He won the Vienna Photobook award of 2015 and was shortlisted for the Luma Recontres Dummy Award Arles.
