Once, when taking photographs in a large, hectic city, I was stopped by a woman who, in a somewhat perplexed manner, asked me what it was I was photographing. “A squirrel”, I replied. The woman, surprised, couldn’t see a squirrel anywhere. Nevertheless, she nodded in satisfaction and went on her way.

About the artist
TORSTEN SCHUMANN was born in Dresden (1975). Being Berlin based, he attended classes by Anders Petersen, Göran Gnaudschun and Wolfgang Zurborn. Torsten was awarded the International Arte Laguna Prize in photography in 2012. In 2014 he took part of exhibitions in London, Dortmund and New York and received an award from the Berliner Liste.
