The big slip

France

2013

About ten years ago in India, stricken by the sight of whole families living on the street in wealthy neighborhood, the artist discovered that both sides, rich or poor, live next to each other, coping with the situation in complete acceptance. Street people organize their own space, which is embodied by a piece of cloth, a few objects, hence she had strange sensation of passing by
homes with transparent walls. This sight has now become common in France. In 2008 this drove her to take a series of photographs of sleeping homeless people in Paris, which led into an installation named «The Big Slip».
