MADER Romain

Ekaterina

Suisse

2015

This work was made in a Ukrainian town created in 2007 by group of German investors eager to speculate on the sexual tourism industry. It’s a booming sector in this former soviet republic, world widely renowned for the beauty of its women.
In this microcosm reserved to these and rich European bachelors searching for sensuality and marital stability, Romain Mader stages his own character searching for his future wife.
Through humor and irony, beyond naive words and an old-fashioned aesthetics, Romain Mader here addresses solitude, a certain social discrepancy and the maladjustment to the sometimes absurd codes of modernity.
