KIESEWETTER Isabel

Konversion

Allemagne

2013

In the “Konversion” series, Isabel Kiesewetter catalogues the places that bear the mark of political and social changes and which transformation is still perceptible. She goes all over the urban zones and the peripheral regions since October 2011, to investigate about the physical evolution of the former military sites and to know how they are used now. The metamorphosis of these former military bases creates a surreal landscape. Some pictures are a testimony of the length of the transformation process of the places in Germany, almost 20 years after the departure of the allied forces. The transformation process comes to its appointed end with the reform of the Bundeswehr in 2011. The final list of the 31 sites will be made public within the next few years.
