Afghan Dream

2014Sélection du jury et de Fetart

“(…) what is striking when seeing Kabul on a regular basis for 20 years is the emergence of a new westernized urban class, living on the flood of money that followed the coalition since 2001. (…). The withdrawal from the coalition could lead to the disappearance of this urban group that has a modernization project different from the Talibans’ – and even from a part of today’s political elites. To show its existence is thus important today, before the events take away this fragile testimony of what Afghanistan could have become.” Gilles Dorronsoro, extract.
In this series, Sandra CALLIGARO shows the daily life of the Afghans, more pecisely the Kabulis, far away from the pictures of the conflict conveyed by the medias.
