The photographic series presented here is the result of an investigation about the search for happiness in Lithuania. With a certain irony and an acute sense of dignity, Mindaugas Azusilis describes the natural need to be happy and the fear of failure. It is a real photographic approach which leaves banality and vanity express themselves and show how we are happy through the picture we reflect on to the others.
To paraphrase the expression of Stéphane Hessel, “To create is to resist , to resist is to create”, the artist gives life to a paradoxical form of resistance to the imposed concept of happiness.

About the artist
Azusilis was born in 1987 in Vilnius, Lithuania. As an independent photographer, he took part in many exhibitions in Lithuania, Germany, Russia and Poland.
