A voir

France

2014

« A voir » is an installation of 4 small analogue transparent photographs hung with a string from the ceiling and portraying a group of spectators from the back. From one side like from the other, we face the same spectators from the back without knowing what they are watching. The video « Spiegel im Spiegel » completes this installation. We are facing spectators, who seem to watch a street performance, but this time from the front. However, the performance itself is not being shown, thus creating the sensation that we are being looked at by these spectators. These works are part of a series entitled « Petites mises en abîme » in which the artist questions the spectator’s position and his relation to the artworks.
